Stein

This green/russet/maroon glaze and combed decoration wowed us all! It was everything and more Mark had hoped for when he started working on new glazes for the gas kiln. There were some plates and bowls with this decoration, but for the online store we picked out two steins. It's a red clay slip under a celadon glaze creating a spectacular combination of colors on this large stein with a thumbstop with a contrasting creamy light rim.

Mark doesn't make steins that often, but he did a run with the new glazes he created for the gas kiln. A few made it the online store - this is his favorite.

The small black mark on the bottom is a notation of a new clay body Mark was testing.
